Seeking a general Farm member of the team, to include assistant Herdsperson work as well. A mixed role, giving the applicant a varied workload to include a share of milking duties, calf rearing, tractor work and general farm maintenance.
The farm is a well structured, high yielding herd looking for someone to join a team environment, maintain and monitor high standards of work and progress the business together with the team.
Potential involvement in forage management and conservation in the future as this has a massive impact on the herd performance - Will offer training and support in this regard.
Working with the herdsperson and farm owner to gain experience in all areas of the farming system. Including tractor work, telehandler and grassland management.
The Applicant:
Milk the herd of 280 cows on a rota basis, through an auto-tandum parlour.
Monitor and assist as required cow calvings.
Provide relief for the calf rearer, maintain and implement calf rearing protocols to ensure hygiene and high health.

This is a contract position, where the successful person will operate as an agency worker with the employer. This means that the person will not have sub-contractor responsibilities and all statutory tax deductions and payments will be made by the emplyer on their behalf. Hourly pay operates, which includes pay for overtime hours worked.
